Nature of work

Do you enjoy history, communication with people and meaningful work? We invite you to join the museum team and become a voice that opens the world of the Lost Shtetl to visitors.

What will you do?

  • You will lead engaging, tailored tours of the museum and surrounding areas for different audiences;
  • You will present exhibits, stories and context in a clear and interesting way;
  • You will answer visitors’ questions and ensure a pleasant, safe experience;
  • You will contribute to the organization of events, seminars and educational activities.

What do we expect?

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar field (previous experience in a museum, pedagogical or educational field is a great advantage);
  • Higher education in the field of social sciences, history or pedagogical sciences;
  • Knowledge or studies related to Jewish history and culture;
  • Fluent in Lithuanian and English (additional languages – Latvian, Polish, Russian or Hebrew – an advantage);
  • Good computer skills;
  • Willingness to learn and ability to work with groups of various ages.

Manpower’s client is the world-class Šeduva Jewish History Museum “The Lost Shtetl” in Šeduva, which invites visitors to discover the vanished world of shtetls and learn about the history, culture and everyday life of Jews in Lithuanian towns. Based on authentic testimonies, photographs, maps and video stories from the Šeduva Jewish community, the museum recreates a lost civilization that significantly contributed to the formation of the cultural identity of Lithuania and Eastern Europe.
