Operational risk is defined as non-financial risks related to processes, systems, people, external events and legal risks. Now You have an opportunity to become a part of Group Risk Team in Wealth Management based in Vilnius.

In Danske Bank, we have an Operational Risk Policy, a framework and a defined risk appetite defined by Group Risk – and working in Wealth Management your role is to implement these things in daily business. The overall aim is for Wealth Management to have a fact-based understanding of our top operational risks, continuously ensure management reporting to group risk and mitigating of top risks with risk owners in the business. Working with Operational Risks encompasses a variety of tools, and methodologies that enable organizations to understand their risks, analyses and document them, reporting/monitoring, measure effectiveness of controls and in the end ensure effective mitigation of top risks within 12 Months to ensure we act with INTEGRITY in society and protect our customers.

The desired candidate is passionate about risk management and is dedicated to facilitate and document risk assessments, report to Group Risk, and communicate findings to a variety of different recipients and making the analytical results available to corporate decision makers as well as operational workers.

A typical day:
  • (30%) Independently plan, facilitate and document risk assessment e.g. book IT and map the operational risks, put it into the database and be ready to communicate findings. Present it to group risk, receive and integrate feedback
  • (20%) Quarterly follow up on top risks, reporting to Group Risk and communicate findings
  • (20%) Assessment of controls – are they effective and working?
  • (15%) Ad hoc tasks and analysis
  • (15%) Culture and awareness in Wealth Management around risks – communicate the WHAT, WHY AND HOW


  • 1-5 years of relevant working experience from (operational) risk management field
  • Solid business understanding – preferred from Wealth Management area (Private Banking, Asset management)
  • Strong independent drive to plan and create progress in risk assessments
  • Strong personal impact with excellent communication skills and ability to challenge the business when they outline the risks in business processes
  • Ability to work independently without daily task management from above, but also ability to be given a task and create a result by engaging the right stakeholders
  • Highly skilled in MS Excel and Power Point
  • Higher degree in Economics, Finance, Risk management or a related field
  • Experience with risk management or business understanding, credit or compliance experience would be an advantage

The desired candidate is passionate about risk management and is dedicated to facilitate and document risk assessments, report to Group Risk, and communicate findings to a variety of different recipients.
  • Understanding of operational risk or risk management. The ability to document and pin point risks (customer risk, financial risk, regulatory risk and reputational risk) and communicate a bridge between a theoretical framework and the daily business (e.g. in trade execution)
  • Business understanding. The ability to facilitate a risk assessment interview with people from the business e.g. to map and understand the inherent and residual risks and the likelihood for the risks. To win the respect of the business you need to understand wealth management, investment, credit, trading
  • Analytical understanding and the ability to document thoroughly and correct. The ability to cross reference data, get documentation in place for fact based reporting
  • The ability to present risk assessment in simple overviews. The ability to engage the business on their level and still fulfill the requirements for the risk assessments – communicate and translate the policy to everyday language.
