Position Summary:
OpSec Security is growing our Software Analysis Team by adding a new Software Business Analyst position in our Engineering organization. This role is responsible for business and technical analysis of new products and features, and works closely with product managers and software engineers to drive great outcomes. Partnering with Product Management to understand high level requirements and priorities, each Software Business Analyst fills the Product Owner role in our agile Scrum process, and operates as a conduit between Product Management and up to 2 software development teams.
Candidates must be based in the London or Vilnius areas, have previous experience working with software development teams, and be comfortable speaking with product stakeholders. This position will interface with engineers and stakeholders in the United States, Europe, and Asia, occasionally requiring flexible working hours.
Responsibilities:
-- Meets regularly with Product Manager to stay in touch with the needs of the business, priorities, and what is needed from Engineering.
-- Becomes a subject matter expert for assigned product areas, familiar with product features, user workflows, user objectives and motivations, and business rationale.
-- In accordance with best practices, writes user stories with clear acceptance criteria that translate business requirements into technical and functional requirements with appropriate scope and detail.
-- Reviews user stories with development teams to ensure the team understands the desired outcomes and ensures alignment of planned implementation with expectations of Product Management.
-- Prioritizes product backlog in agreement with Product Management priorities.
-- Becomes familiar with software architecture to understand what components are affected by product and feature requests.
-- Partners with tech leads to drive the development teams, clear impediments, and drive continuous improvement.
-- Plans sprints in partnership with engineers and in accordance with Product Management priorities.
-- Regularly attends daily standups to provide answers to any requirements questions that may arise, and to stay informed on sprint status.
-- Gives feedback on in-progress work to engineers and QA testers before completion of a sprint, and loops Product Manager into discussions impacting the desired outcomes.
-- Partners with Product Manager to accept/reject the functionality presented during Sprint Reviews.
-- Manages, organizes, contributes to, and is familiar with Engineering wiki content.
-- Prioritizes production bug fixes with input from stakeholders and Product Management.
-- Works with stakeholders and Product Management to drive beta testing and/or UAT activities prior to release of new products and features.
-- Reports on progress and health of assigned projects, as well as health and output of assigned development teams.
-- Acts as agile process lead for assigned development teams.
-- Creates low-fidelity mockups as needed, and collaborates with UX designers to enable them to create high-fidelity design prototypes.

Education and Experience:
-- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
-- 3 - 5 years of experience in roles such as business analyst, business systems analyst, technical analyst, technical product owner, or other similar roles.
-- Previous experience interacting with software development teams in an Agile environment.
-- Previous experience as a Scrum Product Owner is preferred, but not required.

Organizational Alignment:
-- Reports to the Director of Software Analysis.
-- This position does not have staff management responsibilities.
