Thermo Fisher Scientific is a global leader in the design and manufacture of chromatography and mass spectrometry instruments for the scientific community. We are currently expanding validation and verification activities in the Vilnius branch and we are looking for a candidate to complement the team.
The candidate will work with different collaborators to define the experimental design and conduct experiments using the best equipment to demonstrate that the latter enables our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.

A day at work:

A validation and verification specialist performs proteomics and metabolomics-type experiments to demonstrate that a measurement device, consumable (such as a column), or overall solution is fit for purpose.
This work requires knowledge of chromatography and mass spectrometry, from principles of operation to application possibilities. Statistics, data visualization are an integral part of the work. Finally, good laboratory practices and the ability to document observations and experimental details are critical success factors.

Minimum experience and education requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 0.5 years of work experience with mass spectrometry and spectrum interpretation. Experience working with proteomics and/or metabolomics is a plus.
  • Digital Literacy: Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint is a must, demonstrated ability to work with large data sets is a plus.
  • Laboratory work experience obtained in one of the following domains (at least one year): Proteomics/Metabolomics, Pharmacy/Biopharmacy, Food Safety/Environmental Safety
  • English B2 level (reading/writing/speaking) according to CEFR, C1 is an advantage.
