Core Functions / Responsibilities:

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office in IOM Lithuania and direct supervision of the Head of Unit, the successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of information and consultations in the “Migration Information Centre” (MIC).

  • Provide consultations for migrants through online platforms, on phone and in-person on different aspects related to migration and integration in Lithuania;
  • Gather feedback from migrants to identify and address their challenges effectively;
  • Stay abreast of policy and regulation changes in the field of migration legislation and contribute to keep MIC staff well informed and updated with the changes;
  • Assist to conduct sociocultural courses and trainings for newly arrived migrants;
  • Contribute to the creation, editing, and dissemination of informational materials, website content, and social media posts related to migration and integration;
  • Assist in the organization of meetings, workshops, events, and training sessions;
  • Provide inputs and general administrative assistance for new project proposals and other project development and fundraising activities;
  • Attend official meetings, appointments and duty travel;
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education
  • School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Migration Studies, Social Science, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.

Experience
  • Experience working directly with migrant communities;
  • Experience in provision of consultations;
  • Experience in delivering training;
  • Knowledge of main migration issues in Lithuania and current situation in the EU;
  • Knowledge of relocation to Lithuania procedures and regulations.

Languages
  • Excellent working knowledge of Lithuanian, English and Russian is required (oral and written).

Classification: General Service Staff, G4 (UN Salary Scale, ~1487 EUR base salary per month, ~1438 EUR take-home pay per month, IOM income is tax exempted)
Type of Appointment: Special Short-Term Graded Contract, 6 months with possibility of extension
