Accountant in a transport/expedition company

UAB „JAGER FREIGHT“ – international freight forwarding company. As the scope of activities grows, we invite an accountant to join the team in Mažeikiai.
In this position, you will be an important link between the accounting and expedition team – you will ensure that invoices and transportation documents are correct, submitted to customers on time and properly accounted for in the systems we use.
We are looking for someone who likes order, accuracy and numbers, but who is also able to quickly navigate in a dynamic expedition environment.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sales invoice administration – issuing invoices based on the information provided by managers, adjusting them and sending them to customers;
• Purchase invoice accounting – entering incoming invoices and assigning them to the appropriate expedition orders;
• Transport document control – checking CMR, POD, import and export declarations and other documents related to transportation, collecting missing documents;
• Data reconciliation – checking sales and purchase invoices and other accounting data between the systems used, searching for and correcting discrepancies;
• Customer and supplier administration – entering new customer and supplier data into the systems, checking the completeness and correctness of the information;
• Checking the creditworthiness of new customers using Coface, Creditinfo or other creditworthiness assessment systems;
• Preparing and submitting documents to the bank according to received requests;
• Performing internal administrative accounting processes – administering business trip documents, accounting for fuel for company cars and preparing and entering documents related to the hiring of new employees into the system.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

• Experience in accounting, financial administration or a similar position;
• Good computer skills and the ability to quickly understand different information systems;
• Diligence and attention to detail - the ability to notice discrepancies in invoices, documents and systems;
• The ability to independently organize your work and manage several tasks at once;
• Responsible attitude to deadlines and accuracy of documents;
• The ability to communicate constructively with colleagues, clients and suppliers;
• English language skills sufficient for working with documents and daily business communication.

We will consider it an advantage if:

• You have work experience in a transport, logistics or expedition company;
• You have worked with CMR, POD, import / export declarations or other international transportation documents;
• You have experience working with several accounting or business management systems;
• You have encountered customer creditworthiness assessment.

1850-2400 €/mon. gross
The specific salary will depend on your experience, competencies, and ability to independently perform the functions of this position.
