The Role

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Asia Key Account Manager to join our international container leasing team.

You will grow into a key commercial role responsible for managing leasing customers, communicating with Asian suppliers, supporting procurement, developing new B2B relationships, and helping the company identify the best opportunities.

We are honest about how you'll get there.
Unless you already have shipping container experience, you will start in a structured development phase:

  • Months 1–2: Learn and build.
You'll learn the container leasing business from the inside: products, pricing, suppliers, processes, and our communication standards.
From week one, you'll also do real business development — prospecting, approaching new leads, and building the habit of constantly expanding our client base.
New customers are where you sharpen your skills; established accounts come once you're ready.

  • Months 2–4: Take over.
You'll gradually take responsibility for existing Key Accounts from current team members, with support at every step.

  • By Month 6: Fully integrated.
You independently manage your own portfolio of customers and suppliers.

Prior experience in the shipping container industry shortens this path considerably.

What You'll Actually Do

KEY ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing leasing customers and Asian suppliers
  • Respond quickly — our standard is minutes, not hours
  • Adapt to each customer’s preferred communication method
  • Build long-term trust through consistent, polite, professional and helpful communication
  • Coordinate day-to-day operational activities

PROCUREMENT
  • Track container prices and availability across major Asian ports every week
  • Negotiate and purchase containers from suppliers

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
  • Prospect and approach new B2B customers
  • Build and nurture new relationships over time
  • Attend international conferences and exhibitions

MARKET INTELLIGENCE
  • Monitor prices, availability and trends on a weekly basis

The Early-Bird Option

Much of Asia's working day happens before Europe wakes up.
So if you genuinely love mornings, we offer something rare.

A typical early schedule could look like this:
05:00–07:00 - Clear overnight messages, respond to suppliers, check urgent requests
07:00–08:00 - Break/breakfast
08:00–13:00 - Continue communicating with suppliers and customers, assisting with existing orders, internal communication, follow-ups, and business development.
13:00 - Finish work and have the rest of the afternoon free

This schedule is optional, not required.
Standard office hours are equally possible.

What We're Looking For

MUST HAVE
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Commercial mindset — comfortable with numbers, prices, margins, and Excel
  • Speed with accuracy, and ownership without waiting for instructions
  • Calm, polite, professional communication — especially when there's a problem

BIG ADVANTAGE
  • Chinese language (Mandarin), is a big advantage, but not required
  • Experience in shipping containers, logistics, freight forwarding, or international trade
  • Account management, sales, or business development background

  • Guaranteed base salary depends on experience. Total monthly earnings are expected to range from €1,500 to €3,000+ net, including performance-based bonuses. Strong performers can exceed this range
