We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant who will take responsibility for company’s accounting management in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and Lithuanian legislation. The Chief Accountant is responsible for compiling the annual report for the company and for all accounting related reports required by law and internal procedures.
What you'll be doing
- Overseeing all accounting operations, including general accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable, while ensuring accurate financial reporting, balance sheet control and internal control compliance.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining accounting principles, processes and procedures to ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing, as well as financial reporting.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with Group Accounting Policies, Lithuanian GAAP and IFRS (where applicable).
- Ensuring compliance with tax and statutory requirements, overseeing the accurate and timely preparation and submission of tax returns and other mandatory reports, and ensuring timely settlement of tax liabilities.
- Managing cooperation with the Group Shared Service Center and driving continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures.
- Coordinating the year-end audit and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Analyzing departmental processes and procedures to improve efficiency and optimize the use of resources.
- Leading and developing the accounting team to ensure the effective delivery of accounting responsibilities and achievement of departmental objectives.
What we’re looking for
- You have at least 3 years of experience as a Chief Accountant in an international company, experience in a manufacturing environment would be considered an advantage.
- You have a university degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field, along with a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- You have a strong knowledge of accounting, taxation and related legal requirements.
- You have experience with large accounting systems (preferably SAP) and strong Excel skills.
- You have the ability to review, improve and implement business and accounting processes.
- You have proven leadership skills and experience leading and developing a team.
- You are confident working in both Lithuanian and English.
