We are seeking a motivated and analytically minded Cybersecurity Specialist to help establish, implement, monitor, and improve our information security practices.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge, academic research skills, independent problem-solving abilities, and an interest in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and document cybersecurity risks affecting company networks, systems, applications, and digital information.
  
• Evaluate security vulnerabilities and recommend practical risk mitigation and remediation measures.
  
• Support the implementation, testing, and monitoring of security software, threat detection tools, and protective controls.
  
• Monitor access permissions, authentication mechanisms, and security events to identify suspicious or unauthorized activities.
  
• Assist with encryption practices, secure data handling, and protection of sensitive information.
  
• Investigate potential cybersecurity incidents and support incident response planning, reporting, and evidence preservation.
  
• Apply digital forensics principles to support authorized security investigations and technical analysis.
  
• Conduct independent research into emerging cyber threats, security technologies, and defensive methods.
  
• Use approved AI-assisted tools to support technical research, security analysis, and documentation while independently verifying the accuracy and safety of generated outputs.
  
• Contribute to security procedures, risk assessment reports, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  
• Research and apply relevant cybersecurity frameworks and guidelines, including NIST, ISO 27001, and OWASP, when appropriate.
  

Working Arrangement

Remote work, with full-time or part-time opportunities depending on business needs and the agreed employment arrangement.

Education and Academic Qualifications

A relevant university degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Security Administration, or a closely related discipline is preferred.

A Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field is considered a significant advantage, particularly when the program includes cybersecurity, digital investigations, information security management, technical research, or risk analysis.

Candidates with other relevant educational backgrounds and demonstrable technical competencies are also encouraged to apply.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat identification, vulnerability assessment, and security risk management.
  
• Knowledge of information security controls, authentication, encryption concepts, and data protection.
  
• Familiarity with security monitoring tools, incident response concepts, and digital forensic methodologies.
  
• Ability to research complex technical topics, evaluate evidence, and provide well-supported recommendations.
  
• Understanding of secure software development and common application security vulnerabilities.
  
• Ability to prepare clear technical reports, security assessments, and professional documentation.
  
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and independent problem-solving skills.
  
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
  

Artificial Intelligence Competencies

• Ability to use modern AI-assisted tools responsibly for technical research, cybersecurity analysis, and productivity.
  
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated technical information and identify inaccuracies or unsupported conclusions.
  
• Awareness of confidentiality, data protection, and information security risks associated with AI tools.

Professional Experience

Extensive years of professional experience are not a mandatory requirement.

We place particular importance on relevant academic qualifications, demonstrated technical knowledge, research capabilities, practical problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn.

Relevant academic projects, technical assignments, certifications, independent research, and practical security experience will be considered.

Candidates will be evaluated through a fair, skills-based recruitment process that may include technical assessments and structured interviews.

23.50 €/hour gross
Gross hourly salary: €23.50. Full-time and part-time arrangements of 30–40 hours per week are available, subject to agreement.
