We are announcing a competition for the position of Head of the Doctoral School of the Physical and Technological Sciences Center (FTMC). Main position responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and coordinate the activities of the Doctoral School and the team by setting goals and ensuring their achievement.
- Formulate and implement the Doctoral School's policy and activity plan.
- Organize various types of training to improve the scientific, social and other competencies of doctoral students.
- Strengthen the general skills of doctoral students and ensure feedback with them.
- Develop international relations with foreign research centers, organizations that bring together doctoral students, other institutions, increasing the dissemination of information and the awareness of the Doctoral School.
- Take care, together with the Communication and Marketing Department, of the marketing of the Doctoral School, the publicity of doctoral topics and the attraction of doctoral students and their participation in international and national career days.
- Organize an international doctoral summer school, training for doctoral supervisors and other events for participants in the doctoral process.
- Prepare and submit to the responsible institutions reports on the implementation of doctoral studies at the FTMC and other necessary data on doctoral studies.
- Decide on the appropriate use of funds allocated to the Doctoral School.
We hope that the candidate's "basket" of competencies includes:
- Higher university education, preferably in the field of natural or technological sciences, a doctoral degree.
- At least 3 (three) years of experience in team management, preferably in the management of a doctoral school or other student-supervising organization, or at least 3 years of work experience in (doctoral) study administration.
- Excellent command of Lithuanian, command of English – at least C1 level.
- Excellent management and leadership skills.
- Strategic and analytical thinking and initiative.

The State Research Institute Physical and Technological Sciences Center (FTMC) is the largest research institution in Lithuania, carrying out unique research and technological development works in laser technologies, optoelectronics, nuclear physics, organic chemistry, bio and nanotechnology, electrochemical materials science, functional materials, electronics and in other fields of science. Not only high-level science is developed here, but also modern technologies useful for business and society are created.
FTMC was established in 2010. 2010 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania March 17 by resolution no. 302 after reorganizing the Institutes of Chemistry, Physics and Semiconductor Physics in Vilnius and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania in 2011. December 21 by resolution no. 1500 after reorganizing and connecting the Textile Institute in Kaunas. The institution, which has successfully combined different branches of science, has become one of the leading scientific institutions in the country within a few years.
