Nature of work
What you will do:
- You will lead the Education Department and team, shape the department's activity directions, plan resources and ensure the implementation of strategic and annual goals.
- You will shape and implement the museum's education and audience engagement strategy, initiate new activities and their adaptation to audiences of different ages, experiences and needs.
- You will coordinate the development of educational programs, assess their quality and impact, analyze visitor needs and initiate the improvement of activities.
- You will mobilize museum curators, collection specialists, exhibition consultants, educators and colleagues from other fields to work together so that audience orientation, inclusion and accessibility become a horizontal principle of the entire museum's activities.
- You will initiate the improvement of the museum's accessibility for various audiences and the strengthening of competencies in this area.
- You will develop museum education, art therapy, inclusion and accessibility initiatives, aiming to strengthen the role of the National M. K. Čiurlionis Art Museum as a regional center of excellence.
- You will collaborate with all departments of the museum, educational and scientific institutions, cultural and social organizations and other partners.
- You will represent the museum in national and international education, audience inclusion and accessibility networks, events and projects.
Employee requirements
We hope that you:
- You have at least a higher university education in the field of humanities (history, art studies, etc.) or social sciences (management, education, cultural management, etc.) with a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- You have experience in team management and organizing activities, are able to mobilize people for common goals and create a work culture based on cooperation.
- You know the principles of creating educational activities, are able to plan, coordinate and evaluate their results.
- You are interested in modern practices of museum education, audience engagement, cultural accessibility and inclusion.
- You are able to see education not only as a separate area of museum activity, but also as a horizontal responsibility of the entire institution and to mobilize museum employees from different areas for this.
- You are communicative, open to new ideas and able to build trust-based relationships with colleagues and partners.
- You are able to initiate and develop partnerships with educational, cultural, academic, social and other organizations.
- You have good English language skills.

- Salary 2300–2600 EUR before taxes, depending on experience, education and competencies.
