Job description

UAB "GTN" is a tax consultancy company specializing in EU VAT compliance. We prepare EU VAT registration documentation, submit periodic declarations and communicate with EU tax administrators. We provide services directly and through a network of partners to clients from the transport, construction, trade and e-commerce sectors.

This is a VAT and tax compliance coordination and client administration position. In many countries, the functions of filing declarations are performed by local partners, therefore the main responsibility of this position is to ensure that the entire process is carried out accurately and on time: client data is collected, tasks are clearly transferred to partners, results are verified, correspondence with tax administrators is managed and daily client issues are smoothly administered.

VAT and tax compliance

  • Communication with clients by e-mail and telephone: collection of missing data, confirmation of declarations, answers to standard questions, reminders for unfinished actions.
  • Collection, verification and preparation of client data (invoices, transaction summaries, VAT reports) for periodic declarations in EU countries.
  • Preparation of VAT declarations and other reports in Lithuania and other countries.
  • Coordination of work with local VAT partners and subcontractors: assignment of tasks, control of deadlines, review of submitted declarations.
  • Analysis of letters and notifications from tax administrators, determination of required actions and coordination of preparation of responses.
  • Administration of clients' VAT registrations, VAT codes, declaration periodicity and deregistrations.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT refund applications.
  • Preparation of powers of attorney, covering letters and standard letters to tax authorities.

Administration

  • Preparation of service proposals, commercial proposals and draft service contracts according to templates.
  • Administration and archiving of signed contracts, authorizations and client entry documents.
  • Administration of incoming and outgoing correspondence (e-mails and mail): sorting, registration, transfer to responsible persons and control of response deadlines.
  • Search for suppliers, ensuring orders and office supplies.

Requirements for the candidate

  • Good understanding of the EU VAT system: principles of the VAT Directive, taxable person, place of supply, reverse charge, intra-EU transactions, registration obligations.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in accounting, tax administration or finance.
  • Excellent written English skills – daily correspondence with foreign partners and tax administrators.
  • Strong Excel skills: data verification, reconciliation and structured information management.
  • Very good work organization skills and ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail – errors in compliance documents have direct legal and financial consequences.
  • Ability to work with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) and manage shared documents.

What we do not require

  • Detailed practical experience with tax portals of all countries – in many countries, technical submission of declarations is carried out by local partners.
  • Many years of international tax experience – more importantly, a solid understanding of the basics of EU VAT and motivation to learn.
  • Fluent knowledge of German, Finnish or Dutch – the working language with partners and institutions is English.
