The Lithuanian Agricultural and Forestry Science Centre (LAMMC) is a state-funded scientific institution that conducts national and international research and projects. The organization is currently strengthening financial planning and control processes to ensure smooth management of funding flows throughout the institution.

We are looking for a Head of Finance Service who will lead the team and ensure reliable financial management, budget planning and control processes that meet public sector requirements. The place of work is chosen – at the Academy in Kaunas or Kėdainiai district.

MAIN FUNCTIONS:

  • You will lead the Finance Service team: you will develop and motivate employees, effectively distribute responsibilities and focus them on achieving common goals.
  • You will organize and coordinate LAMMC's financial planning, prepare budgets and financial plans, monitor their implementation and analyze deviations from planned indicators.
  • You will manage and monitor financial and cash flows from the state, projects and other funding sources, identify deviations in a timely manner and make proposals for the effective allocation of funds.
  • You will ensure financial control, legality of financial operations and proper implementation of accounting processes in accordance with the requirements of VSAFAS and legal acts.
  • You will prepare timely and reliable financial information and reports, identify financial risks and make proposals to the management on their management.
  • You will cooperate with LAMMC departments, external institutions and partners, providing the necessary information on financial issues.
  • You will contribute to LAMMC's strategic planning and provide suggestions for improving the Finance Office processes.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Higher university education in the field of financial management or accounting, master's degree or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of financial management or accounting, of which at least 1 year in a management position (experience in a non-profit institution would be an advantage).
  • Knowledge of the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, Public Sector Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards (PSAFAS).
  • Knowledge of the requirements governing the administration of funds from projects and other funding sources.
  • Ability to independently plan and organize one's own work and that of the Finance Service.
  • Knowledge of English at B2 level (oral and written).
