Nature of work
- Calculate and track the cost of purchased grains (logistics, warehousing, drying, fumigation, financing, hedging);
- Track and update grain positions – physical and exchange (hedge) on a daily basis;
- Value positions at market prices (mark-to-market), calculate realized and unrealized results;
- Reconcile physical balance data with warehouse and third-party elevator reports;
- Identify data discrepancies and escalate them to the sales manager and the Finance Department;
- Analyze grain flows (purchase, storage, sales, cash flows, etc.);
- Accurately and timely update and refine grain trade data in accounting systems;
- Provide data to the Finance Department, which prepares and consolidates monthly grain reports;
- Assist the sales manager in executing hedging transactions – prepare the necessary data in a timely and accurate manner;
- Register hedging transactions in accounting systems and submit them for approval in accordance with the established procedure;
- Reconcile transaction data with broker reports, monitor the need for margin calls;
- Prepare regular market reviews (prices, basis, exchange rates, freight) to help make short-term trading decisions;
- Create and improve Power BI / Excel reports to monitor grain positions, flows and other financial and market indicators;
- Perform other duties related to the position assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Employee requirements
- Higher education in finance, economics, mathematics, agricultural economics or a related field;
- 1-3 years of experience in analytical work with financial or commercial data (experience in commodity trading, brokerage, bank middle office or agricultural sector is an advantage);
- Excellent Excel skills and willingness to work with Power BI;
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail and ability to work with large amounts of data;
- Interest in commodity markets and willingness to understand hedging principles;
- Ability to independently plan work, meet deadlines and work in the intensive rhythm of the harvest season;
- Good knowledge of English, at least B2 level - for daily work with exchange platforms and international partners.
