Animal keeper

The position of animal caretaker is classified as a qualified employee, position level - C.

1. have at least secondary education and acquired professional qualifications;
2. speak English, Russian, German or French at the beginner's A2 user level;
3. must be familiar with the biology of the animals served, constantly improve theoretically and practically, and if possible - improve their qualifications;
4. be dutiful, hardworking, and businesslike.

1. cleans animal holding areas and the surrounding area, feeds animals at the established time;
2. participates in the treatment, catching, fixing animals, performing sanitary and disinfection work;
3. if necessary, moves animals to other aviaries, buildings, helps to unload or load animals during their transportation;
4. works with the inventory for catching, fixing and transporting animals;
5. carries out animal deliveries;
6. works with volunteers and interns of the institution, shares good practices with them, introduces them to the specifics of the work and informs them about the requirements applicable to the work performed;
7. prepares employment measures for the animals under care;
8. decorates aviaries / premises and carries out other related work according to the instructions of the immediate supervisor;
9. participates in the elimination of the consequences of special situations when catching animals;
10. if necessary and upon instruction from the direct supervisor, in cases of illness, vacation or other temporary absence from work of LZS colleagues - animal keepers -, replaces an absent employee (animal keeper) of his/her Department or another department of the institution;
11. following the recommendations prepared by the animal care specialist and the approved plan, carries out the formation of the behavior of the assigned group of animals;
12. fills in mandatory and local animal observation logs, forms and other documents;
13. carries out other non-permanent instructions/tasks of the direct supervisor related to the functions performed.
