Senior JAVA Programmer (for Geographic IS solutions)

We are looking for a colleague who:

• develop geographic information systems applications;
• develop basic software modules and expand the functionality of geographic information systems according to user needs;
• develop and publish electronic services, digital and interactive maps;
• prepare technical documentation;
• research, evaluate and apply new technologies for the development of geographic information systems;
• initiate decisions related to the implementation of the department's goals and objectives;
• initiate and improve the processes of creating and developing geographic information systems;
• participate in the development and improvement of regulatory processes and technical solutions;
• consult users on issues of geographic information systems and spatial data management.

For this position, we need:

• higher education or equivalent;
• at least 2 years of work experience in the areas of information technology implementation, computer equipment administration or geographic information systems development;
• at least 2 years of work experience in Java programming, working with integration solutions;
• experience in designing, developing and maintaining large-scale information systems;
• experience in working with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, etc.), knowledge of the latest automated change application software (Liquibase, Flyway) and knowledge of SQL;
• experience in designing and implementing integration interfaces and web services (REST);
• knowledge of Spring Boot, Jakarta EE, JPA, Keycloak, RabbitMQ and other components of the Java technology ecosystem;
• skills in working with version control systems (Git, SVN); experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD processes;
• experience in performing code reviews, implementing good programming practices and ensuring the quality of the code being developed;
• experience in creating and maintaining automation scripts (Python, Powershell, Bash, etc.);
• work experience with Docker, Openshift, S3, Maven or Gradle, SonarQube and other modern software development and deployment technologies would be an advantage;
• knowledge of Agile (Scrum, Kanban) methodologies would be an advantage;
• experience in developing specialized GIS-type solutions (ArcGIS Server SOE or SOI development, practical use of JTS, GDAL) would be an advantage;
• good skills in working with Microsoft Office software packages and knowledge of information systems;
• ability to analyze, develop and improve information systems solutions;
• ability to express thoughts fluently and correctly in Lithuanian and proficiency in English at least at B1 level;
• compliance with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on the Protection of Objects Important for Ensuring National Security;

Salary:

• 3,086 – 4,630 Eur/month excluding taxes. The exact salary will depend on your competence and professional experience.
