SUMMARY
The Production Estimator is responsible for transferring customer orders into production programs, ensuring material requirements are submitted to the Purchasing Department, and coordinating the release of accurate orders to Production. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and close collaboration with associated departments to maintain workflow efficiency.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
- Accurately transfer customer orders to the production system, ensuring zero mistakes in released orders.
- Release production orders on time, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ensure small orders (e.g., claims, mock-ups, tests, inventory, marketing orders) are completed within a single day.
- Input and manage orders within the PrefSuite system according to shop drawings prepared by the Drafting Department.
- Communicate and update all relevant departments about order status to ensure smooth workflow.
- Implement preventive actions and provide solutions to avoid production delays or errors.
- Check orders for accuracy and completeness before releasing them to production, ensuring they follow internal guidelines and specifications.
- Split containers and add any necessary extra or additional materials for the production process.
- Conduct status updates in BlueScreen to inform departments such as Purchasing and Logistics about order progress.
- Participate in daily Asaichi meetings and weekly team meetings to align tasks with overall production goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order processing.
- Proficiency in MS Office for data entry and order management.
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.
- Excellent organizational skills to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills for identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact production.
- Time management abilities to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high productivity levels.
- Knowledge of order management processes and workflows.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and urgent tasks.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
- Analytical skills to evaluate the accuracy of orders and make adjustments as necessary.
- High level of responsibility for ensuring the success of production orders.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum B2 level in English (writing) for documentation and communication.
- Experience with order management systems is preferred.
- Experience in reading and interpreting architectural drawings is an asset.
