We are looking for an experienced software engineer to take over and further develop the core of an already operational, technically complex product.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is able to delve into the existing system, strengthen its architecture, fix weaknesses, and independently lead the technical core of the product from a working prototype to a stable solution for real users.
The product combines complex data, rule-based algorithms, 2D and 3D environments, and AI integrations. We will present the product and its operating principles in more detail during the interview.

Your main tasks will be:
- Take over the technical core of the product. You will become familiar with the current architecture and code, assess the technical state, set priorities, and become the main person responsible for server systems, data, algorithms, and integrations.
- Strengthen the architecture. You will decompose complex parts of the system, reduce technical debt, and create a clear, testable, and easily extensible structure.
- Prepare the product for real use. You will create storage for projects, documents, and results, secure login, and user access rights. You will implement backups, error logging, and performance monitoring so that data is not lost and failures can be quickly detected and fixed.
- Ensure that the technical core is working. You will work with server logic, data models, calculation and generation algorithms, APIs, and external integrations. User interface development and design will not be your responsibility.
- Ensure quality. You will create automated and integration checks, safely deploy new versions, and ensure that changes do not break existing parts of the product.
- Oversee AI integrations. You will integrate and evaluate external AI models where they provide real benefits to the product, and control their reliability, speed, and cost.
- Make technical decisions. Together with product and domain people, you will clarify the need, propose a pragmatic solution, and implement it yourself.
Requirements
- Very good TypeScript and Node.js skills.
- Experience in developing and maintaining server systems, APIs, data models and databases.
- Ability to quickly understand existing, complex code and safely modify it.
- Experience in preparing and maintaining a product used by real users: creating automated checks, safely deploying new versions, tracking errors and protecting user data.
- Ability to independently lead a technical function from problem clarification to release to users.
- Pragmatism: ability to distinguish what needs to be fixed now and what does not need to be redesigned yet.
- Ability to clearly communicate with technical and non-technical people and justify your decisions.
- English for work. Lithuanian is a significant advantage.
