Speech therapist (1 position)

Organizes and provides special pedagogical (speech therapy) assistance to preschool and primary school students with speech, language and communication disorders. Assesses students' educational needs, plans and implements measures to overcome disorders. Consults teachers and parents of students and cooperates with other educational assistance specialists in order to ensure students' educational success and full participation in school life.
Working hours are divided into contact and non-contact.

– Have the education and speech therapist qualification established in legal acts;
– Be able to assess the peculiarities of students' language development, speech, language and other communication disorders and special educational needs;
– Be familiar with the methods of special pedagogical assistance and be able to apply them, taking into account the individual educational needs of the student;
– Be able to plan and organize individual, subgroup and group speech therapy assistance, select appropriate assistance methods, methods and means;
– Be able to cooperate with teachers, other educational assistance specialists, the student's parents (guardians, carers), the pedagogical psychological service and other institutions participating in the student's educational process;
– Be able to consult teachers and parents (guardians, carers) on issues of special pedagogical assistance and the development of the student's language and communication skills;
– Be able to independently plan professional activities, prepare the necessary documents and activity reports, and express thoughts clearly and in a reasoned manner orally and in writing;
– To know the education system of the Republic of Lithuania, the legal acts regulating special educational needs and educational assistance, internal school documents and to be guided by them in their activities;
– To adhere to the principles of professional ethics, confidentiality, ensuring the rights of students, their safety and well-being;
– To be able to work in a team and in an inclusive education environment, to contribute, within the limits of their competence, to the satisfaction of the student's individual educational needs.
