Mechanical Design Group Leader

In this position, you will:

• You will form the goals, direction and priorities of the Mechanical Design Group and ensure their implementation.
• I led a mechanical design group uniting more than 30 colleagues, consisting of teams with different competencies and their managers. You will be responsible for coordinating activities, team growth, manager development and ensuring results.
• I will coordinate the work of teams in developing new products, ensuring effective resource allocation, priority management and smooth cooperation.
• You will ensure engineering support for existing products and components: initiating design improvements, solving technical challenges, improving product quality and reliability.
• You will ensure that mechanical solutions meet quality standards throughout the product life cycle - from idea and design to serial production and further development.
• You will monitor the group's performance, analyze indicators and initiate solutions to improve processes and operational efficiency.
• You will make technical and organizational decisions that help ensure quality, meeting deadlines and efficient use of resources.
• You will collaborate with the optics, electronics, software, manufacturing, quality and product management teams, ensuring the successful implementation of interdisciplinary projects.
• You will build a strong and growing team: you will participate in selections, develop employees and managers, provide feedback and nurture future leaders.
• You will contribute to the long-term development strategy of product, technology and mechanical competencies.

The team expects from you:

• You have at least 3 years of leadership experience in an engineering or technological organization and have led teams of specialists, technical leaders or other managers.
• We would appreciate experience in leading a mechanical design discipline, but we also welcome candidates who have led larger R&D, product development or engineering departments and were responsible for coordinating the activities of several teams.
• You have a higher university education in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, physics, production engineering or another related technical field.
• You have accumulated at least 5 years of experience in the field of mechanical design or engineering solution development.
• You are able to form team goals, plan resources, set priorities and ensure the achievement of results.
• You have experience in developing new products from concept to implementation in production and organizing technical support and improvement of already manufactured products.
• You have excellent knowledge of product development, mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
• You have strong analytical thinking and are able to make data-based organizational and technical decisions.
• You are able to develop employees and managers, provide feedback and grow a strong and results-generating team.
• You communicate fluently in Lithuanian and English, both orally and in writing.

After the probationary period, an additional variable remuneration component is awarded, linked to your and your team's results, which can reach up to 15% of the half-yearly remuneration.
