Nature of work

  • provision of personal healthcare services in accordance with the competence of a medical biologist, established in the Lithuanian Medical Norm MN 68:2018 “Medical Biologist”;
  • work in a biochemical, immunochemical and blood coagulation laboratory;
  • performance of laboratory tests in accordance with approved procedures, evaluation, interpretation and confirmation of results;
  • documentation and presentation of test results to customers;
  • implementation of internal quality control of laboratory tests, evaluation of results, analysis of non-conformities and application of corrective actions;
  • participation in external quality assessment programs and analysis of their results;
  • work with laboratory diagnostic equipment and laboratory information system;
  • management of laboratory documentation in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 15189 standard and the legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania;
  • cooperation with other healthcare specialists, consulting on laboratory diagnostics issues.

Employee requirements

  • have a valid Medical Biologist license, seal;
  • know the principles of laboratory medicine, modern laboratory research methods and their clinical significance;
  • be able to assess the influence of factors, diagnostic procedures and medicinal products on the results of laboratory research;
  • understand the management of laboratory processes and know the principles of quality assurance;
  • be able to organize one's work, make independent decisions according to competence and work effectively in a team;
  • be able to analyze research results, identify discrepancies and apply actions to ensure the quality of results;
  • have good computer skills and be able to use information systems;
  • be responsible, diligent, communicative, positive, able to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
