The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania announces a competition for the vacant position of Director General (statutory civil servant) of the Customs Department under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania (position group – 1).
The salary coefficient of the official will be set in the range from 2.35 to 4.
The Director General of the Customs Department will be appointed for a term of 5 years.

Key features:
1. To manage the Customs Department and the entire Customs Service of the Republic of Lithuania, to plan, organize and control the activities of the Customs Department.
2. To ensure the performance of the functions assigned to the Customs Service of the Republic of Lithuania and the implementation of the assigned tasks.
3. To manage financial, human and other resources.
3. To make decisions, conclude contracts, agreements and transactions on behalf of the Customs Department.
Other functions are established in the job description of the Director General of the Customs Department and other legal acts.

Requirements for applicants:
1. Have citizenship of the Republic of Lithuania.
2. Be fluent in Lithuanian.
3. Be at least 18 years old and no older than 60 years old.
4. Be of impeccable reputation.
5. Be loyal to the State of Lithuania.
6. Have at least a higher university education (master's degree) or an equivalent higher education qualification.
7. Have at least 3 years of managerial work experience in the internal service system.
8. Have at least 5 years of work experience in the field of public administration.
9. Meet the health requirements established in the Collection of Health Requirements, approved by Order No. 1V-380/V-618 of the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania of 21 October 2003 “On the Approval of the Collection of Health Requirements” in Column III.
10. Meet the physical fitness requirements set out in the Description of the Physical Fitness Requirements for Internal Service System Officers and the Procedure for Checking Compliance with These Requirements, approved by Order No. 1V-55 of the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania of 15 January 2019 “On the Implementation of the Statute of the Internal Service of the Republic of Lithuania”, at level III.
11. Know at least one official language of the European Union (English, German or French) at the advanced user level B2 in accordance with Decision (EU) No. 2018/646 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 April 2018 on a common framework for the provision of better services related to skills and qualifications (Europass), repealing Decision No. 2241/2004/EC.
12. Be able to work with the following computer programs: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, as well as be able to use the Register of Legal Acts.
13. be well acquainted with the organizational structure of the customs and the legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania and the European Union regulating the activities of the customs.
14. be able to form the customs strategy and ensure the successful implementation of the goals and objectives set therein.
15. Meet the requirements set out in the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on State and Official Secrets, which are necessary for issuing a permit to work or access classified information marked with the security mark "Top Secret".

2. Documents confirming the identity, citizenship and education of the person.
3. Documents confirming work experience (length of service).
4. Curriculum vitae.
5. A completed applicant's questionnaire (in accordance with the Description of the Procedure for Organizing Competitions for Vacant Positions of Customs Officers of the Republic of Lithuania, approved by Order No. 1K-56 of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania of February 25, 2019 "On the Implementation of the Statute of the Internal Service of the Republic of Lithuania in the Field of Management of the Minister of Finance", Annex 1).
6. A printed copy of the declaration of private interests submitted in accordance with the procedure established by the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on the Coordination of Public and Private Interests in the Civil Service and its implementing legal acts.
7. The conclusion of the Central Medical Expertise Commission of the Medical Centre of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania and documents confirming the applicant's general physical fitness compliance with the requirements, if the applicant's health and physical fitness checks were carried out no later than 12 months before the deadline for submitting the tender documents.
8. Documents proving the level of language proficiency (in accordance with the Procedure for Testing Foreign Language Proficiency Upon Admission to Civil Servant Positions, approved by Order No. 1V-447 of the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania of 21 May 2013 "On Approval of the Procedure for Testing Foreign Language Proficiency Upon Admission to Civil Servant Positions").
