Nature of work
- Collect, research, systematize and describe museum exhibits, prepare acceptance and transfer acts and documentation;
- Research the origin, historical and cultural significance of collections, prepare reports;
- Develop exhibition concepts, select exhibits, coordinate their lending;
- Participate in project preparation, contribute to educational and publishing initiatives;
- Enter data into LIMIS and other digital data systems, publish collections on the Internet;
- Maintain exhibits in storage and expositions, monitor their condition;
- Participate in the implementation of international cooperation projects;
- If necessary, help receive visitors, present expositions, exhibitions and the viewing platform, assist in events;
- Perform other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor or museum director.
Employee requirements
- Higher university or college education in the humanities/social sciences (bachelor's degree or equivalent);
- Knowledge of documents regulating the activities of Lithuanian museums and the ability to apply them;
- Excellent Lithuanian language skills, at least one foreign language (not lower than B1 level);
- Ability to work with MS Office, document management principles;
- Responsibility, initiative, ability to work independently and in a team;
- Advantage – experience working with LIMIS.
