Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop our internal order management and production platform;
- Contribute to the modernization of the system — updating the stack and improving the architecture;
- Build and maintain back-end services and REST APIs;
- Work on integrations with external business systems;
- Apply SOLID, component, and service-oriented design principles;
- Write clean, well-tested code — practicing TDD and maintaining high test coverage;
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines;
- Work on the data layer – schema design, migrations, and query optimization;
- Occasionally contribute to other internal web projects;
- Collaborate with the IT Product Owner, business users, and other developers;
- Document technical decisions and share knowledge within the team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional Java development experience;
- Solid command of the Spring ecosystem – Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Cloud (Feign, Consul, Spring Cloud Config) and JWT Spring Security (OAuth2 / JWT, LDAP);
- Experience with Hibernate / JPA and relational databases;
- Hands-on experience with RESTful API design and implementation;
- Strong understanding of SOLID principles and component-based architecture;
- Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and/or microservices patterns;
- Practice of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and writing automated tests;
- Experience setting up or maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or equivalent);
- Proven experience analyzing, maintaining, and modernizing legacy systems and legacy code;
- Proficiency with Git;
- Good command of English (Lithuanian is a plus).
Nice to Have
- JavaScript / TypeScript – useful for frontend work and other internal web projects;
- Python – scripting, tooling, or web services;
- Experience with a modern frontend framework (React, Angular, or similar);
- Experience maintaining a legacy AngularJS (1.x) frontend (current system)
- Familiarity with Docker (Swarm), Nginx, log aggregation, Linux, or broader DevOps practices;
- Familiarity with WebSocket / STOMP;
- Experience with ERP integrations or manufacturing systems;
- Familiarity with legacy JVM libraries used in the system – MVEL (BOS formula engine), Activiti (workflow), JasperReports (reporting);
- Experience working with and modernizing legacy systems;
- Experience with 3D programming – preferably three.js or similar WebGL-based libraries;
- Interest in AI, automation, or 3D technologies.
