Nature of work
- organize, plan and coordinate the activities of the Legal Department and ensure the effective organization of the work of the department;
- represent the University in courts of all instances, labor dispute commissions and other institutions, prepare procedural documents and coordinate the management of (pre-)judicial disputes;
- prepare, evaluate and coordinate contracts concluded by the University, internal legal acts, legal conclusions, draft decisions and other legal documents;
- advise the University's managers and employees on various legal issues, including labor law, public law, personal data protection, intellectual property law, regulation of science and studies and other issues relevant to the activities of the University;
- ensure compliance of the University's activities with applicable legal acts, identify legal risks and submit proposals for their management;
- coordinate the implementation of complex legal projects, cooperate with state institutions, partners and external legal service providers;
- perform other functions corresponding to the nature of the position.
Requirements
- have a higher university legal education - Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws qualification degrees or a professional qualification degree of a lawyer (single-cycle university legal education);
- have at least three years of legal work experience, as well as experience in bankruptcy procedures, preparation of court procedural documents and representation in courts, preparation of contracts, management of intellectual property, preparation of documents for the establishment and management of legal entities and other areas relevant to the University;
- have leadership and (or) managerial experience that would ensure proper management of the Law Department;
- be familiar with the legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania, including, but not limited to, the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania, the Civil, Labor, Administrative Offenses, Criminal Codes of the Republic of Lithuania, the Law on Education of the Republic of Lithuania, the Law on Science and Studies of the Republic of Lithuania, etc., as well as be familiar with the legal acts and internal documents regulating the management of the University and the activities of the University;
- have excellent command of the state language and English at a level not lower than C2 and an additional foreign language at a level not lower than A2 in writing and orally;
- be familiar with the rules of clerical work and document storage;
- be able to collect, manage, systematize, analyze information and draw conclusions;
- be able to smoothly present thoughts in writing and orally;
- be able to independently plan and organize work;
- be able to analyze, summarize information, and promptly solve emerging work problems;
- be able to use effective communication tools;
- be proficient in working with a computer (Microsoft Office software package) and other modern communication and telecommunications equipment.

The final salary will be discussed with the selected candidate, taking into account his/her competencies and experience.
Additional incentive payments may be granted based on performance and contribution to the unit's activities.
