We are looking for a lawyer!
The Lithuanian Council for Culture is looking for a lawyer - chief advisor. We offer an interesting, responsible and meaningful job. You will contribute to the activities of the Council, the implementation of cultural policy and the adoption of clear, legally sound decisions. We are waiting for your CV and invite you to join our team!
What will you do?
- you will consult colleagues on various legal issues;
- you will prepare and evaluate draft legal acts, contracts and other legal documents;
- you will represent the Lithuanian Council for Culture in courts and dispute resolution institutions, prepare procedural documents;
- you will examine complaints, requests and more complex legal situations, prepare responses and conclusions;
- you will perform the functions of a data protection officer, consult colleagues on personal data protection issues;
- if necessary, you will participate in conducting internal investigations and investigating possible violations of work duties;
- you will monitor changes in legal acts and case law, assess their impact on the activities of the Council and propose solutions.
We hope you:
You have obtained a higher university education in law - a bachelor's degree or equivalent higher education qualification - and have accumulated at least 4 years of legal work experience.

The Lithuanian Council of Culture is a budgetary institution operating under the Ministry of Culture. Established in 2013, it aims to democratize cultural management and strengthen self-regulation. The Council finances cultural projects, grants for creators and conducts cultural research, thus contributing to the promotion of public welfare and creative diversity.
Cultural funding takes place through a public tender, where decisions on funding are made by art and culture professionals, ensuring the transparency of processes and independence from political influence. The institution is based on the principle of respectful distance, which enables creators and cultural representatives to shape art processes autonomously.
The Council also coordinates the activities of Regional Cultural Councils, which create priorities for regional projects, and from 2022. administers the Design Wings program. The Lithuanian Council of Culture has financed more than 18.5 thousand over a decade. projects and provided 7.5 thousand scholarships, distributing over 200 million euros.
In addition to funding, the Council conducts significant cultural research through the Monitoring and Analysis Unit (SAS), which since 2017 implemented 39 studies to improve cultural policy models.
