Main responsibilities:
- Ensure the essential functions of the department: prepare passenger trains for travel (pre-trip inspection, fuel, water and other materials replenishment, internal and external cleanliness, heating), perform train shunting operations and organize train maintenance during parking
- Lead a team (40-50 specialists) and be able to form it in order to ensure readiness for servicing newly installed and existing passenger trains
- Set and monitor the department's performance indicators (KPIs), analyze results
- Ensure the acquisition of materials, services and equipment necessary for the function
- Plan and manage the department's budget and costs; develop the department's operational strategy
- Implement a LEAN culture and apply efficiency improvement methods (5S, Kaizen, standardized work, etc.)
- Ensure process automation, actively participate in the implementation of digital solutions
- Prepare the team for newly constructed premises and new train operations, preparing processes and equipment for efficient operations
- Ensure compliance of the function with industry safety and quality standards
- Ensure employee competency development and promote continuous professional development
What do we expect?
- Higher university technical/engineering education
- Successful work experience in the field of technical maintenance or production
- Successful management experience
- Experience in implementing LEAN principles in production
- Experience in vehicle cleaning/washing is an advantage
- Knowledge of the principles of transport engineering, mechanics, energy, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical equipment
- Ability to optimize processes, use innovations by integrating them into daily activities
- Fluent Lithuanian, foreign language (English) skills at least at B1 level
