The Physical and Technological Sciences Center (FTMC) is inviting a responsible, practical, and proactive Farm Foreman to join us. He/She will contribute to ensuring the smooth operation of FTMC, take care of the maintenance of buildings, premises, and territory, and help create a safe and comfortable working environment for employees and the community.

Main position responsibilities:

  • Perform minor repairs to buildings, premises, electrical installations and plumbing;
  • Maintain and repair doors, locks, switches, sockets, lighting equipment and other infrastructure elements;
  • Move, load and unload furniture, equipment and other equipment;
  • Prepare and rearrange workplaces, laboratories and common areas;
  • Maintain work tools and inventory;
  • Observe and record faults, contribute to their elimination;
  • Manage the collection of bulky and repair waste;
  • Cooperate with colleagues in solving daily household issues.

We hope that the candidate's "basket" of competencies includes:

  • Secondary or vocational education (technical education would be an advantage);
  • Experience in building maintenance, repair, construction or farm work;
  • Ability to perform minor repair and maintenance work and safely use work tools;
  • Willingness to perform physical work;
  • Responsibility, diligence, independence and ability to work in a team;
  • Ability to plan one's work and set priorities;
  • Basic computer skills;
  • A driver's license would be an advantage.

The State Research Institute Physical and Technological Sciences Center (FTMC) is the largest research institution in Lithuania, carrying out unique research and technological development works in laser technologies, optoelectronics, nuclear physics, organic chemistry, bio and nanotechnology, electrochemical materials science, functional materials, electronics and in other fields of science. Not only high-level science is developed here, but also modern technologies useful for business and society are created.

FTMC was established in 2010. 2010 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania March 17 by resolution no. 302 after reorganizing the Institutes of Chemistry, Physics and Semiconductor Physics in Vilnius and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania in 2011. December 21 by resolution no. 1500 after reorganizing and connecting the Textile Institute in Kaunas. The institution, which has successfully combined different branches of science, has become one of the leading scientific institutions in the country within a few years.
