Our client is Sallaum Logistics, which was established by Sallaum Lines to expand its activities beyond maritime and terminal operations and integrate land transport services. Sallaum Logistics is currently looking for a Senior Accountant who will become a member of the strategic finance team, contribute to the optimization of processes and systems and ensure accurate financial accounting, working directly with the CEO and CFO of the group.

What will your responsibilities look like:

  • Ensure accurate, transparent and timely financial and tax accounting in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Lithuania.
  • Prepare and submit payroll calculations and related documentation for accounting and tax purposes.
  • Organize and coordinate external audits: document preparation, communication with auditors and resolution of emerging issues.
  • Perform transport sector-specific accounting, including driver business trips, working time accounting, truck fleet and fuel and operation control.
  • Manage tax obligations and VAT refunds, including refunds of VAT and fuel excise duties paid in foreign countries.
  • Improve financial processes and systems and propose new FinTech solutions.
  • Analyze financial reports, budgets and key indicators and provide insights to management.

You will do great if:

  • You have a higher education in finance, accounting or economics.
  • You have 3-5 years of experience as a chief accountant in a transport/logistics company.
  • You have experience working with auditors.
  • You are familiar with the tax laws of the Republic of Lithuania, IFRS/IFRS standards and EU transport regulations.
  • You are excellent at planning your time and are able to work according to deadlines.
  • You have experience in implementing financial technologies, banking APIs and automated processes.
  • Experience working with the NetSuite accounting system is a great advantage.
  • You communicate well in English.
