Nature of work

  • to analyze the development and sensitivity scenarios of the Lithuanian energy system provided for by legal acts, to create and coordinate with institutions joint scenarios for the long-term development of the electricity system;
  • to determine the optimal renewal and development needs of the internal electricity transmission network infrastructure (lines and substations) and inter-system connections in the long-term perspective;
  • to perform optimization, identification of priorities and initial analysis of development opportunities for projects related to the integration of offshore and onshore RES, storage systems, consumer and other sectoral facilities into the electricity transmission network;
  • to assess and monitor the results of system adequacy and flexibility needs, identify deviations from the reliability standard, seek opportunities for the use of excess RES power and increasing hydrogen integration, search for synergies between the electricity, gas and hydrogen sectors (networks) and identify and initiate integration measures;
  • participate and represent the Company in international working groups that develop joint transmission system development scenarios at the regional and European level, perform regional system adequacy and flexibility, assess the integration of national electricity systems, and conduct an analysis of system infrastructure needs;
  • ensure the compatibility of the Lithuanian 10-year transmission network development plan with the European 10-year development plan, prepare and conduct public consultations on electricity transmission network development plans, system adequacy and flexibility needs.

Employee requirements

  • higher university education or equivalent in the field of power engineering, fundamental sciences;
  • knowledge of the principles of operation of the power system;
  • experience in working with large amounts of data, their processing, evaluation, analysis, calculations;
  • ability to analyze information from different sources and present it systematically;
  • ability to analyze, understand and apply legal documents in everyday activities
  • excellent oral and written knowledge of Lithuanian and English (level C);
  • result-oriented, independent, proactive, creative;
  • excellent communication, cooperation and teamwork skills.

Advantages:

  • experience in electricity market, system adequacy or transmission network modeling (e.g. Plexos, PSSE);
  • knowledge of electricity regulatory law documents;
  • experience in the areas of electricity transmission system management, transmission network development, and transmission system operation consulting.
