About the position
The Western Union Accounting team is looking for a Senior Accountant for maternity leave. When you join our team, you will be entrusted with performing month-end closing processes, preparing and approving accounting entries, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, and collaborating with international teams. You will work with accounting systems on a daily basis, analyze data, participate in audit processes, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation, recording and approval of accounting records for the month-end closing process in Oracle;
- Performing and approving balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine, analyzing and resolving discrepancies;
- Collaborating with treasury management, accounts payable, tax and settlement accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate accounting of transactions;
- Preparing information and documentation for internal and external audits, providing answers to auditors' inquiries;
- Consulting junior colleagues, reviewing and supporting the quality of work;
- Data analysis and ensuring the quality of accounting records;
- Participation in process improvement and accounting projects.
We hope you:
- Have a higher education in accounting, economics, finance or business administration;
- Have at least 4 years of experience in the field of accounting;
- Know accounting standards and principles of preparing financial statements;
- Have good knowledge of English (written and spoken);
- Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel;
- Able to effectively collaborate and communicate with different teams;
- Be proactive, focused on quality and process improvement;
- ACCA or GBS ACCA qualification would be an advantage.
