Senior Accountant

Our client – “Cobelec” – is an international infrastructure group company contributing to one of the strategically most important projects in the region – “Rail Baltica”. The company operates in an international environment, therefore accuracy, responsibility and the ability to smoothly cooperate with colleagues at the Baltic level are important in the work.

We are currently inviting a Senior Accountant to join the team in Vilnius. This is a position for a professional who has excellent knowledge of Lithuanian accounting and taxes (especially VAT), confidently performs monthly and annual closings, and wants to have a real impact – contribute to the creation and improvement of processes in Lithuania.

In this position, you:

• You will ensure correct VAT accounting and compliance with the tax requirements of the Republic of Lithuania.
• You will manage the full accounting cycle in Lithuania.
• You will perform monthly and annual closings, prepare the necessary data and documentation.
• You will prepare financial statements and balance sheets, perform basic reconciliations/conciliations.
• You will coordinate accounting issues with suppliers and clients, ensure smooth exchange of information.
• You will assist with tax declarations, as well as payroll and social security processes, in cooperation with local consultants, prepare summaries/presentations for management if necessary.

What we expect from you:

• Solid accounting and tax knowledge - you have excellent knowledge of Lithuanian taxes, especially VAT, and are able to apply them in practice.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, at least part of which - in a senior accountant or other responsible position. Experience in the infrastructure / construction / engineering sector or in a Big4 environment is a great advantage.
• Experience working with a full accounting cycle and tax declaration.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
• You are organized, meticulous, proactive and able to adapt to a dynamic, international environment.
• You communicate well in Lithuanian and English.
